This seminar-style class will consider recent advances in AI (Transformers, LLMs, Diffusion, …) alongside historically significant technology-driven market disruptions (incl. technology, business models, and market context). Students will combine historical examples with current trends to propose a to-be-founded-in-2030 AI-enabled business, including technical, product, market, and historical justifications. Compensation, Funding, and Ownership ENTR 510

From formation to launch, growth to long-term operation or exit, we’ll explore the intricacies from both the entrepreneur and employee owner’s perspectives. Students will gain invaluable insights, enabling them to grasp the nuances of equity and ownership issues for both non-profit and for-profit entities. (Winter term only)

Creativity & Product Development ENTR 490.022

Creativity and storytelling are critical to the product development process, but they’re often overlooked. This course explores the role of creativity and storytelling in designing new products. This class will teach you that great storytelling isn’t about flash, but about clarity, passion, and authenticity. Over seven weeks (March-April), you’ll learn to craft compelling stories that drive change.

Tech Inspired Business Models ENTR 520

Graded | 3 Credit Hours

With a focus on STEM students, this course will provide a framework for understanding the difference between Innovative Value Creation and Innovative Value Capture. Students will learn how to use a variety of innovation and entrepreneurial tools to identify opportunities, construct a business model, and assess its fundability in order to bring an idea to life.

NOTE: Students should either have previously taken ENTR 500 or otherwise be familiar with the Business Model Canvas before enrolling. (Fall term only)

Urban Entrepreneurship Practicum ENTR 490.012

Who can take an ENTR course?

Students from any school, college, or unit. Currently no ENTR courses have a prerequisite. Some ENTR courses are by application.

Can undergraduate students take 500 level or above courses?

Yes, undergraduates with senior standing (85+ total credit hours) can take any of our graduate courses.

Can graduate students take undergraduate courses?

Yes, Graduate students can take 400 level and above courses.

Do ENTR courses help me towards my degree?

ENTR courses count as Electives (or Cognates with department approval).

College of Engineering undergraduate students can also earn up to 4 credits of PCDC (Professional and Creative Development Courses) credit from ENTR courses.  Consult with your academic/program advisor to learn more about ENTR satisfying requirements of your major.
