The Perot Jain TechLab (PJTL) series at Mcity offers students a unique opportunity to dive into entrepreneurship by collaborating with forward-thinking companies shaping the future. In this technology-based program, emerging transportation startups are paired with outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. Together, you’ll tackle industry challenges through engaging technical projects. This immersive experience allows students to interact closely with high-growth ventures, opening doors to limitless possibilities.

Adventures in Learning

Interested students must go through a formal application and selection process to secure a spot. Make sure you’re ready for a two-semester commitment, as the program spans both the winter and fall semesters. It’s an exciting endeavor waiting for you.

ENTR REQUIRED Courses

This program is a year-long commitment (winter & fall semesters).

To participate in the Perot Jain TechLab at Mcity, students must take ENTR 475.100 and 485.100. Student teams dive into real projects alongside innovative transportation startups. This is a 2-semester course.

Overview

This program is hands-on, with student teams working on projects with a startup developing advanced transportation technology.

As a PJTL student, get ready for exclusive access to meetings with founders, investors, executives, and remarkable entrepreneurs. Whether in the classroom, campus events, or during the Discovery Treks. Embrace these extraordinary experiences and unlock invaluable insights into this dynamic world.

Mentoring

Students are connected with seasoned mentors from the technical industry with expertise in fields such as new sensor technology, mapping, automotive stacks, and perception. Also, students receive valuable guidance from U-M faculty and staff, further enhancing knowledge in these areas

INVOLVEMENT

Through this groundbreaking program, students are immersed in the technology landscape, actively engaged in the development, demonstration, and deployment of innovations. In addition, sponsoring companies gain exclusive access to the Mcity test facility, enabling them to explore and test their technologies in a controlled, specialized environment.
