agendaOver the course of a semester, every student is asked to complete a paper or project, regardless of their major.

Students involved in CFE’s ENTR courses are no different.

The difference in these projects is that there is the possibility some of these ideas might be the seedling that could eventually bloom into a million-dollar product or service. Here are just a few of the projects students have conceived over this fall semester.


 

Product: MAPPA — Start your next national park adventure

Student: Kayleah Hanuer Son – Double-majoring in Communication and Media, Minoring in Entrepreneurship – Junior

Type: Mobile app

Product: Roomie — The Ultimate College App

Student: Jennifer Ho – Majoring in Psychology, Minoring in International Studies – Senior

Type: Mobile app

Summary: Roomie helps college students find roommates, places to live off-campus, and buy or sell secondhand items so that they can carry out all these tasks on one integrated platform.

Product: Trip.it — Your next adventure awaits

Student: Sinan Mohammad Abdulhak – Majoring in Industrial & Operations Engineering and is a part of the Engineering Global Leaders Program, Minoring in International Engineering – Junior

Type: Web app

Summary: Trip.it allows younger travelers an easy and efficient way to obtain an itinerary in order to maximize enjoyment and time for the best possible travel experience.

Product: keeping it wholesome

Student: Simon Kim – Majoring in Business Administration – Freshman

Type: Brand/apparel

Summary: keeping it wholesome is an apparel line, as well as a state of mind, that emphasizes the importance of prioritizing one’s own mental health and positivity through self-affirming slogans on bright apparel.

Product: The Shea Lab

Student: Ian Schrack – Biomedical Engineering PhD

Type: Biomedical Cancer Device

Summary: The Shea Lab is developing an implantable device capable of collecting tumor cells from circulation early in disease progression that would allow clinicians to both detect metastatic onset early and analyze the cells to identify the best therapeutic option.

Student Project Summary: Mckingtorch aims to create a movement that collectively helps remove plastic waste from the environment and advocates for sustainable lifestyles.  Working with its founder, this student project team explored its business product and service, designed to improve the quality of life in an urban community (Ghana). The team recommended a variety of vetted improvements to the Mckingtorch’s business model.

Student Project Summary:  ToDoolie, a marketplace that recruits local students to help out – “be an extra hand with the to-do list is getting too long.” Working with its founder, this student project team explored its business product and service, designed to improve the quality of life in an urban community. The team recommended a variety of vetted improvements to ToDoolie’s business model.

Working with its founder, this student project team explored its business product and service, designed to improve the quality of life in an urban community (Tampa/St.Pete, FL). The team recommended a variety of vetted improvements to the Ride Scoozy business model.

Student Project Summary: Yum Village is an Afro-Caribbean Market Pantry with a passion for creating social sustainable impact while offering quick-casual cuisine. Working with its founder, this student project team explored its business product and service, designed to improve the quality of life in an urban community (Detroit).  The team recommended a variety of vetted improvements to Yum Village’s business model.
