Danny Ellis is the CEO and co-founder of SkySpecs, an Ann Arbor–based drone technology company building autonomous drones for infrastructure inspection. A University of Michigan aerospace engineer, Danny co-founded SkySpecs while completing his master’s degree after teaming up with his longtime collaborator (and fellow Wolverine), Tom Brady. His love for flight started early—airshows as a kid turned into building self-flying drones as a student, which eventually led him to start Michigan Autonomous Aerial Vehicles, a student group that’s still active today. Now, Danny leads a team pushing the future of autonomous technology, focused on making dangerous and time-consuming work safer and more efficient.
