Since its inception in 2008, The Center has developed a rich and diverse set of offerings that cater first to the needs of the students and faculty at The University.

PRACTICING ENTREPRENEURS
As a serial “hardtech” entrepreneur and expert in university tech transfer with more than 20 years of experience commercializing transformative technologies rooted in the physical sciences, Nick has held leadership roles in seven startups, mentored more than 50 student and faculty startup teams, acquired hands-on experience in photovoltaics, wind energy, batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, biofuels, nuclear energy, mechatronics, photonics, nanomanufacturing, sensors, UAVs, bioinformatics, and medical devices.

Tech entrepreneurship has been a way to add value to technology and businesses that employ it. She has engaged in advanced manufacturing and materials related innovation for her entire career. Dr. White feels fortunate to be able to tech students some of the skills required to achieve their entrepreneurial goals.

TECH ENTREPRENEUR
Having left Bell Labs in 1983 to start Telecom Analysis Systems (TAS) in his basement with colleagues Steve Moore and Charles Simmons, David then engineered the sale of TAS to Bowthorpe (now Spirent) plc for $30 million. From 1996-99, Tarver spearheaded development of a Spirent telecommunications test equipment business. In 2001, Tarver founded the Red Bank Education and Development Initiative (Red Bank, New Jersey). The community-based not-for-profit catalyzed dramatic improvements in academic performance and opportunities for Red Bank children.

URBAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP INSTRUCTOR
Actively practicing as a registered patent attorney, Tiffany's practice focuses on counseling clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to startups on intellectual property matters, including domestic and foreign patent procurement, and coordinating international patent portfolios. She also counsels clients regarding patentability investigations, infringement and freedom to operate analyses, and the negotiation and preparation of various intellectual property agreements, including licensing agreements and joint development agreements.
