A beautiful, San Francisco office. Emerging, innovative technology. And an office dog?! How much better can it get?!

Say hello to Blend, the West Coast startup that is changing the face of mortgage lending. Blend’s intuitive design and data connectivity make it easy for borrowers to apply—digitally and securely—from any desktop, tablet, or mobile device. Lenders can work in parallel and follow up instantly with additional requests and information. Engineered for speed and security, but designed with you in mind, the Blend team is pushing forward to make the sometimes unapproachable mortgage market a transparent, accessible commodity.

We had an opportunity to chat with Yvana Pham, the Recruiting Coordinator at Blend Labs, to hear a bit more about what life at Blend is all about!

Q: Give us the lowdown on Blend.

Yvana Pham: At Blend, we’re dedicated to improving lending. We’re an enterprise technology company, but our product affects the most important purchase most people will make in their lifetime—their home. For homebuyers, our product means a clear, guided path to a new home. For lenders, it means modern, easy-to-use tools that let employees spend their time helping customers, rather than on repetitive, manual tasks. By aligning and modernizing this archaic industry, we believe everybody wins.

Q: How did Blend get started?

YP: Blend was founded in 2012 by former Palantir and Intuit leaders, we’re currently backed by Peter Thiel, Andreessen Horowitz and other prominent investors.

Q: What does a day at Blend look like?

YP: Coding, collaborative meetings, pets from our office dog – Bailey, catered meals, and unlimited drinks and snacks!

Q:What do you look for in an ideal employee or intern for the Blend team?

YP: The ideal candidate has high aptitude and a good attitude. We have a diverse culture at Blend, with a wide range of personalities that excel!
