EXPERIENCES

Israel: The summer program begins with a select internship at one of Israel’s many high-tech companies in the city. This offers students an opportunity to bring their Wolverine acumen while honing intercultural communication, tech and business skills.  Coursework rounds-out students’ time in-country.

France: Students will choose one of two deep-dives: project management in startups –or- exploring IoT (arduino+sensors+bluetooth). Students will also study French language and culture with a focus on multinational workplaces. Program activities include day trips to the Alps, as well as diverse industry and lab visits.

Denmark: Summer ‘19  internship experiences included biometric solutions, fintech lab, algorithmic black box, CO2 offset and Danish design solutions. A five-day study tour to Helsinki and Stockholm offers immersion in startup ecosystems in Sweden (SUP46, Impact Hub) and Finland (Maria 01, Aalto Design Factory, Kiuas Accelerator) demonstrating additional public-private collaborations and the relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation and regional community.

Portugal: Check out the European Innovation Academy playbook. Students engage daily with renowned speakers, mentors and startup investors from all over the globe. And no other participating university to date can compare to U-M students, who were collaborative members in top ten teams of 500+ annual EIA innovation challenge participants in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
