The University of Michigan’s Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Engineering is pleased to announce the establishment of the Fadell Scholarship Fund for students involved in the Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (ELP). The scholarship is made possible thanks to the generosity of Tony Fadell, BSE CE ’91, and his wife, Danielle Lambert, who want to support students with the entrepreneurial spirit and give them the opportunity to focus on creating world changing innovations.

“Our future has always been determined based on the success of each generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists, and we must continue to invest in the future.” said Tony Fadell. “It is important that we are part of nurturing, coaching, and supporting these diverse young minds so that they can bring their new ideas and unique perspectives to change the world for the better.”

The application based ELP cohort consists of entrepreneurially minded students from across the University and seeks to provide deep training and mentorship to drive the critical skills and experience students need to become leaders of innovation and entrepreneurship.  A minimum of two scholarships will be given annually to students that have demonstrated multidisciplinary interests through either their coursework or co-curricular activities and who exemplify a deep passion for learning and innovating. The scholarship gives preference to students who are the first in their family to attend college or who are first generation immigrants interested in entrepreneurship.

“This scholarship will help support a network of diverse and multidisciplinary students from the Entrepreneurs Leadership Program,” says Nick Moroz, Assistant Director of Entrepreneurial Practice at the CFE, “providing these students resources they can use to develop the skills and relationships that bring them closer to achieving their entrepreneurial career goals.”

Applications will go live January 8, 2020.
