Shawn O’Grady

Undergraduate Lecturer


Shawn O’Grady spends much of his time at the University of Michigan’s UM3D Lab, a service of the MLibray that focuses on advanced 3d computer graphics, motion capture, application development, 3d printing and 3d scanning. Shawn has a background in Information Technology, and CNC programming. A long long time ago in several distant locations Shawn served as a cryptologist in the US Navy, and briefly as a truck driver in the US Army reserve. Shawn’s is immersed in all things related to the ongoing support of 3d printing and is passionate about the technology. He thoroughly enjoys learning and sharing with others and strives to provide a hands-on experience for those who want to learn more about the 3d printing, 3d scanning, and 3d modeling. He currently resides in Dexter MI with his wife Tamie, daughter Tamalynn, son Connor, and enjoys taking long walks with his wife and Jack Russell Terrier ‘Jack’.
