Entrepreneurship and Innovation, IPE/CFE Study Abroad

The CFE and International Programs in Engineering (IPE) collaborate for summer Entrepreneurship Focused Study Abroad. As dedicated College of Engineering partners, both departments offered two new study abroad opportunities to U-M students Summer ’16. May through June brought a 6-wk/ 9 cr program in Singapore and July brought a 3-wk/ 3 cr program in Italy. Applications to both offerings were robust, from students campus-wide! Selected and participating students found themselves immersed in intense academic courses in partnership with host-country universities (yielding transfer credit), interactive treks to local startup enterprises, meetings with alums/companies/venture capitalists, leadership building/team-bonding workshops, as well as the local culture of both destinations: Europe and Asia! Back on U-M’s campus, student participants RAVED about their entrepreneurially focused overseas experiences!

Applications for CFE/IPE Summer 2017 offerings are due February 1 (priority) or February 26 (regular decision).

These two and additional IPE study abroad opportunities are further detailed on IPE’s website.
